On Tuesday (22/10), Tropical Biopharmaca Research Center (TropBRC) at the International Research Institute for Food, Nutrition, and Health (LRI-PGK) of IPB University welcomed a delegation from the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of Trunojoyo Madura University (UTM). This visit is part of UTM’s strategic efforts to strengthen its performance and expand collaborative initiatives in research and community outreach, underscoring the importance of building synergies with external research institutions.
The visit aimed to explore opportunities for collaboration in a range of fields, particularly in biopharmaceutical research, food innovation, and salt research. Both institutions are keen to pool their expertise and resources to enhance research contributions to society, with a particular focus on advancing public health and well-being through science-based innovations.
The UTM delegation, led by Dr. Ir. Gita Pawana, M.Sc. (Head of LPPM UTM), included Dr. Haryo Triajie, S.Pi., M.Si. (Head of the Salt Research and Innovation Center), Dr. Askur Rahman, S.TP., M.P. (Head of the Medicine and Spices Research Center), and Syaiful Khoiri, S.P., M.P. (Head of the Center for Food Research and Innovation). Their expertise aligns closely with TropBRC’s research priorities, offering exciting prospects for collaboration in areas such as developing innovative health products and addressing critical food security issues.
The TropBRC team, represented by Secretary apt. Dr. Siti Sadiah, M.Si., and Head of the Community Service Program, Dr. Ir. Ninuk Purnaningsih, warmly received the UTM delegation. In her remarks, Dr. Siti Sadiah expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “We are thrilled to engage with UTM in this partnership, and we believe that by working together, we can produce research that has a significant and positive impact on society, particularly in the fields of biopharmaceuticals and food innovation.”
