On Thursday (7/11), Tropical Biopharmaca Research Center (TropBRC) LRI-PGK IPB University inaugurated the new building for the Experimental Animal Cage Unit (UKHP) located on the IPB Darmaga Campus. This facility is designed to support various biopharmaceutical-based research involving animal testing, in compliance with ethical research standards.
The inauguration ceremony commenced with remarks from the Head of TropBRC, Prof. Dr. Mohamad Rafi, S.Si., M.Sc., who expressed his hope that the new building would become a leading facility for biopharmaceutical research in Indonesia. Also in attendance were the founder and advisor of TropBRC, Prof. Dr. Ir. Dudung Darusman, M.A.; LRI-PGK Secretary, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Aziz Boing Sitanggang, M.Sc., S.T.P.; a representative from the IPB University Animal Ethics Commission, Prof. drh. Ekowati Handharyani, Ph.D., APVe; and a representative from the Vocational School, drh. Henny Endah Anggraeni, M.Sc.
The UKHP building is envisioned to support various multidisciplinary research initiatives at IPB University, particularly in the development of tropical biopharmaceuticals. It is equipped with modern technology designed to ensure the comfort and welfare of experimental animals during research activities.
