On Tuesday and Wednesday, December 10-11, Tropical Biopharmaca Research Center (TropBRC) successfully hosted an online “Workshop Docking Molekul Tingkat Dasar” via the Zoom platform. The workshop aimed to provide participants with a foundational understanding of molecular docking techniques, an essential method in the fields of biopharmaceuticals and drug discovery.

The event attracted participants from diverse backgrounds, including researchers, students, and professionals in biopharmaceuticals, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology. This diverse group of attendees reflected the workshop’s relevance across different sectors of science and industry.

The workshop began with remarks from the Head of TropBRC, Prof. Dr. Mohamad Rafi, S.Si., M.Sc., who expressed his hope that the workshop would be a valuable and relevant learning experience. He emphasized the importance of mastering molecular docking techniques in advancing scientific research, particularly in the development of new biopharmaceuticals and therapeutic interventions.

Dr. Setyanto Tri Wahyudi, S.Si., M.Si., an expert in molecular docking from IPB University, was the main resource person for the workshop. Dr. Setyanto provided an in-depth explanation of the basic principles of molecular docking, the software commonly used in docking studies, and the real-world applications of this technique in biopharmaceutical research and drug development. Participants had the opportunity to apply these concepts practically, using docking software to enhance their hands-on skills in molecular modeling.

The workshop received enthusiastic feedback from participants, who praised its practical approach and comprehensive coverage of molecular docking concepts. Many expressed a strong desire for more workshops like this to further develop their skills in biopharmaceutical research and innovation.

Looking ahead, TropBRC plans to continue offering similar workshops to foster innovation, collaboration, and capacity building within the biopharmaceutical research community.
