Tropical Biopharmaca Research Center (TropBRC) LRI-PGK IPB University received an academic visit from Poltekkes Kemenkes Banten on Friday (24/1). The visit, led by Venny Patricia, S.Pd., M.Kes., aimed to discuss land development strategies under the Center for Science and Technology (PUI) program, particularly in utilizing medicinal plants for research and education.

The visit was hosted by TropBRC Secretary, Apt. Dr. Siti Sadiah, M.Sc., at the Animal Testing Laboratory (UKHP), IPB Darmaga Campus. During the visit, TropBRC researcher Ir. Qodarian Pramukanto, M.Sc., delivered a presentation on landscape design for medicinal plant gardens, covering key aspects such as layout planning, plant selection, and sustainable maintenance strategies.

As an initial step in collaboration, Poltekkes Kemenkes Banten proposed partnerships in various areas, including offering expertise for academic and training activities, developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for medicinal plant land management, and procuring and distributing high-quality seeds to improve the productivity of medicinal plants.

Through this synergy, both institutions aim to foster innovation in effective land management and strengthen their contributions to advancing herbal-based biopharmaceutical research in Indonesia.
