The Tropical Biopharmaca Research Center (TropBRC) at IPB University successfully organized the inaugural Workshop on Chemometrics in Metabolomics Research for Beginners. Held virtually on August 22–23, 2025, the two-day event provided 36 participants with a comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals of chemometrics and its applications in metabolomics. The workshop’s curriculum covered essential topics such as conceptual overviews, multivariate data analysis, and hands-on practice with analytical tools, ensuring attendees gained both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

Participants came from a wide range of academic and research institutions across Indonesia, including Universitas Sriwijaya, Universitas Jember, Universitas Riau, Universitas Udayana, Universitas Airlangga, Universitas Hasanuddin, Universitas Brawijaya, Universitas Padjadjaran, Universitas Mulawarman, Universitas Tanjungpura, Universitas Ahmad Dahlan, and Universitas Siliwangi, as well as researchers from BRIN and IPB University.

The program aimed to empower participants to effectively apply chemometrics in Indonesia’s rapidly expanding field of metabolomics. Furthermore, the event served as a crucial platform for fostering cross-institutional collaboration, thereby strengthening national research contributions in the fields of biopharmaca and health.
