TropBRC Webinar 2026 Series #1 Highlights the Potential of Herbal Compounds as SGLT1/2 Modulators and Antioxidants in Diabetic Nephropathy
The Tropical Biopharmaca Research Center (TropBRC), IPB University, successfully conducted TropBRC Webinar 2026 Series #1 on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, via Zoom Meeting. This webinar marked the opening of TropBRC’s 2026 scientific activity series, addressing a strategic topic on the potential of herbal compounds in the management of diabetic nephropathy.
The event was officially opened by the Head of TropBRC, Prof. Dr. Mohamad Rafi, S.Si., M.Si., who expressed his appreciation to Prof. drh. Min Rahminiwati, M.S., Ph.D., for her willingness to share her expertise and experience in pharmacology, particularly regarding the scientific and clinical applications of herbal-based research. He emphasized the importance of knowledge exchange to support both research development and professional practice.
The webinar featured Prof. Min Rahminiwati as the keynote speaker, presenting on “Herbal Potential as SGLT1/2 Modulators and Antioxidants in Diabetic Nephropathy.” The presentation explored the pharmacological mechanisms of herbal compounds in modulating SGLT1/2 glucose transporters and their antioxidant roles in suppressing the progression of diabetic nephropathy. The session also highlighted scientific approaches and opportunities for developing phytomedicine based on Indonesia’s rich biodiversity resources.
The discussion was moderated by Trivadila, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D., who facilitated an engaging and interactive session. The Q&A segment was dynamic, with numerous questions from participants, reflecting strong enthusiasm and interest in the topic.
