The Tropical Biopharmaca Research Center (TropBRC) LRI-PGKH IPB University announces the upcoming National Jamu Day 2026 Commemoration. Specifically, this health event takes place on Saturday, June 6th, 2026. Moreover, the event embraces an inspiring theme: “Modernizing the Heritage of Jamu: Healthy, Empowered, and Global Society.”
TropBRC IPB University proudly organizes this important gathering. Furthermore, we are actively collaborating with Dept SKPM FEMA IPB University. In addition, the Indonesian Association of Development Extension Experts (PERPAPPI) joins this effort. Together, we combine researchers, institutions, and extension experts. Consequently, this partnership maximizes traditional medicine education across society.
Historically, jamu has played a vital role in Indonesian healthcare. For generations, families have relied on these natural remedies. Today, scientific research continuously validates these traditional practices. Because of this, modernizing jamu is more crucial than ever. Therefore, TropBRC remains committed to advancing this important research field.
Fundamentally, this initiative aims to strengthen public awareness about traditional herbal medicine. Therefore, we unite academics, researchers, students, and local communities. As a result, we integrate this botanical heritage into a modern lifestyle. Ultimately, the program incorporates herbal knowledge into public health education. Additionally, it empowers communities and aligns with national health goals.
Engaging Activities During the National Jamu Day 2026 Commemoration
Attendees will experience various educational and interactive sessions. First, these sessions showcase the practical benefits of traditional herbs. Specifically, the scheduled activities include:
– Empon-Empon Talk: Experts will discuss preventing diabetes and hypertension. Indeed, they will focus on Sambiloto, Temulawak, and Kumis Kucing.
– MasterChef Jamu Competition: Also, participants will showcase creative culinary innovations. This competition elevates traditional ingredients within modern gastronomy.
– Student Exhibition: Furthermore, IPB University students will display posters and videos. These works creatively communicate the value of herbal medicine.
– Health Screenings: Finally, the public can access free blood pressure and blood sugar checks. Thus, we actively promote proactive health monitoring.
Importantly, the event occurs at FEMA IPB University, Darmaga Campus, Bogor. It will run from 08.00 to 14.00 WIB. However, participation quotas remain strictly limited.
