IPB University held an Open Session for the Inaugural Scientific Oration of a newly appointed professor on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the Andi Hakim Nasution Auditorium, Dramaga Campus, Bogor. The event featured a scientific presentation by Prof. Dr. Eng. Wisnu Ananta Kusuma, S.T., M.T., a Professor from the School of Data Science, Mathematics, and Informatics at IPB University, who also serves as a researcher at TropBRC.
In his oration, “Systems Bioinformatics in the Development of Natural Product-Based Precision Medicine to Advance National Health,” Prof. Wisnu emphasized the importance of an integrative approach. This approach synergizes systems bioinformatics, network pharmacology, and machine learning to promote independent drug research rooted in Indonesia’s rich natural resources. He explained how this strategy can meet modern therapeutic challenges through scientific, precise, and biodiversity-based solutions.
This oration strongly reaffirms IPB University’s vital role in supporting national health transformation through innovative research grounded in local wisdom and the advancement of adaptive multidisciplinary science.
