On Monday, November 3, 2025, the Experimental Animal Facility Unit (UKHP) of the Tropical Biopharmaca Research Center (TropBRC) LRI-PGK, IPB University, welcomed a visit from the Expert Team as part of the Pre-Feasibility Study of the Priority Research Downstreaming and Technology Advancement Program for Fiscal Year 2025. The program focuses on developing a product titled “GracMod: Natural Fiber Source from the Sea – Validation of Market Response and Scale-Up in the Implementation of Blue Food Downstreaming.”

Led by Prof. Dr. Ir. Winda Mercedes Mingkid, M.Mar.Sc., the expert team and colleagues conducted a direct assessment of the facility’s readiness and explored the potential application of TropBRC’s research outputs in developing innovations based on marine resources. This activity serves as an important step in ensuring that the downstreaming process of research products can be implemented effectively and competitively.

The visit was received by drh. Rere Epiyanti and drh. Maudika Pamela Fiorenza as representatives of UKHP TropBRC. During the discussion session, both parties explored research collaboration opportunities, technology validation aspects, and infrastructure readiness to support the testing and development of the GracMod product. Participants also had the opportunity to visit laboratory facilities to observe the ongoing research process directly.

Through this activity, TropBRC reaffirms its commitment to supporting research downstreaming efforts and strengthening the national innovation ecosystem. Collaboration between academics, researchers, and stakeholders is expected to drive the creation of blue food-based products that benefit society and contribute to sustainable economic development in Indonesia.
