The Tropical Biopharmaca Research Center (TropBRC), LRI-PGK IPB University, successfully organized the Scientific Writing Workshop for Publication and Patents in the Field of Biopharmaca on November 4–5, 2025. The event was conducted online via Zoom Meeting and attended by 33 participants from various universities across Indonesia, including YARSI University, Bhakti Kencana University, the University of Lampung, Esa Unggul University, Sumatera Institute of Technology, Ahmad Dahlan University, the University of Surabaya, and others.

The workshop was opened by Dr. apt. Siti Sa’diah, M.Si., Secretary of TropBRC. On the first day, the sessions focused on theoretical material delivered by Prof. Dr. Waras Nurcholis, S.Si., M.Si., covering research strategies for generating high-quality data, techniques for writing effective and engaging scientific articles, and comparisons between patents and scientific papers. These materials provided participants with a deep understanding of how research can be transformed into scientific publications and valuable intellectual property.

The second day featured practical sessions on scientific article writing and simple patent drafting, again guided by Prof. Dr. Waras Nurcholis. Additionally, Prof. Dr. Eng. Wisnu Ananta Kusuma, S.T., M.T. delivered a session on research and publication ethics. Participants had the opportunity to engage in direct discussions and receive hands-on guidance in preparing manuscripts ready for publication as well as draft patents.

The event received positive feedback from participants, who found the workshop highly beneficial and expressed hope that similar programs would continue in the future—especially to support the capacity building of young researchers in the field of biopharmaca. Through this training, TropBRC reaffirms its commitment to fostering research, publication, and innovation with integrity. The spirit of writing and innovation is a concrete step toward advancing science and achieving research independence in Indonesia.
