For two days, on December 6-7, 2024, the Tropical Biopharmaceutical Study Center (TropBRC) LRI-PGK IPB University organized a GC-MS Application Workshop in Indonesian Medicinal Plant Metabolomics Research at the Royal Padjadjaran Hotel, Jl. Raya Pajajaran No. 12, Bogor, 16128.
The event was opened by the TropBRC Secretary, apt. Dr. Siti Sadiah, M.Sc., followed by the first session on Basic Metabolomics Concepts and GC-MS Analysis Techniques, presented by Prof. Dr. Mohamad Rafi, S.Si., M.Sc. Next, Prof. Dr. Nancy Dewi Yuliana, S.T.P., M.Sc., delivered a session on GC-MS Applications in Metabolomics Research. The final session, presented by Dr. Rudi Heryanto, S.Si., M.Si., covered GC-MS Data Handling and Processing as well as GC-MS Data Evaluation and Interpretation.
The workshop also featured two practicum assistants, Dr. Dewi Anggraini Septaningsih, S.Si., M.Si., and Laela Wulansari, S.Si., who guided participants in practicing Metabolite Processing and Annotation using MS Dial and provided hands-on training with GC-MS equipment.
Participants came from various institutions across Indonesia, including the National Research and Innovation Agency, Pontianak State Polytechnic, Bandung Ministry of Health Poltekkes, Riau College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Unika Atma Jaya Jakarta, Gadjah Mada University, Al-Azhar Islamic University, Sultan Agung Islamic University, Papua University, the Indonesian Education University Bandung, and IPB University.
