On the morning of Tuesday, July 15, 2025, the Animal Testing Laboratory (ATL) at IPB University’s Dramaga Campus hosted a visit from nine internship students. The participants came from IPB University’s Vocational School, specifically the Analytical Chemistry and Pure Chemistry study programs, along with one student from the Pharmacy Study Program at Universitas Airlangga (Unair). The visit was part of an internship program designed to familiarize students with in vivo research practices and laboratory environments.
The students were warmly welcomed by UKHP staff members: Drh. Leliana Nugrahaning Widi, Drh. Rere Epiyanti, and Drh. Maudika Pamela Fiorenza. They received a comprehensive briefing covering the laboratory’s functions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and the fundamental stages of in vivo testing. The session also included discussions on ethical principles in animal experimentation, animal care management, and observation techniques during testing.
Through this visit, the students gained hands-on experience and a deeper practical understanding of biomedical research involving animal models. Additionally, the activity served as a valuable opportunity to strengthen collaboration between educational institutions and research units at IPB University, particularly in enhancing human resource capacity in biopharmaceutical and biomedical fields.
