Tropical Biopharmaca Research Center (TropBRC) LRI-PGKH IPB University is pleased to announce the Basic Molecular Docking Workshop. Specifically designed for beginners, this training program provides a hands-on approach to molecular computation. Participants will learn foundational theoretical concepts and apply them directly through intensive exercises.
Event Schedule and Platform
The main sessions will be held online via Zoom Meeting on Friday to Saturday, 13–14 February 2026, from 08:30 to 17:00 WIB. To ensure technical readiness, we will conduct two pre-workshop sessions.
The first pre-workshop takes place on Monday, 9 February 2026 (08:30–10:30 WIB), followed by the second session on Wednesday, 11 February 2026 (15:00–17:00 WIB).
These preliminary meetings focus entirely on software installation and configuration.

Workshop Topics and Tools
Our progressively arranged materials ensure accessibility for students, early-career researchers, lecturers, and practitioners. Core topics include regular docking using GUI-based AutoDock Vina, handling protein structure issues, ligand structure preparation, ensemble docking, and result interpretation. Furthermore, participants will engage in ligand screening using Data Warrior and conclude with a discussion session and mini-project.
During the practical sessions, we will utilize PyMOL, AutoDock Vina 1.2.3, MGLTools 1.5.7, OpenBabel 2.4.1, Git Bash, LigPlot, and Data Warrior.
Device Requirements
To support these software applications, participants must use a personal laptop meeting the following minimum specifications:
– Operating System: Windows 10 or Windows 11 (version 22H2)
– Processor: Minimum Intel Core i3
– RAM: Minimum 8 GB
– Storage: SSD with at least 256 GB capacity

Registration is currently open via https://ipb.link/wstropbrc26021314. The Early Bird fee is IDR 1,000,000. Meanwhile, the Regular fee of IDR 1,250,000 applies after 7 February 2026. Additionally, TropBRC workshop alumni are eligible for a special IDR 100,000 discount.
