The Tropical Biopharmaca Research Center (TropBRC) LRI-PGK IPB University hosted the second Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Specifically, this event focused on the antihypertensive herbal product, BioLowTens. The meeting took place on November 27, 2025, at the IPB Taman Kencana Campus in Bogor. Moreover, this activity forms a crucial part of the 2025 Technology Push Hiliriset Program. The UNPAD Expert Team organized the FGD. As a result, the IPB inventor team, industry partners, and key stakeholders gathered to refine the BioLowTens downstreaming strategy.

Finalizing the BioLowTens Downstreaming Strategy

Previously, the first FGD gathered initial input on various technical, marketing, financial, and regulatory details. Now, this second session aimed to verify those earlier findings. Furthermore, the team focused on aligning downstreaming strategies. They also addressed remaining challenges before finishing the final study report. Therefore, this consolidation phase is vital. It guarantees that the BioLowTens development strategy remains feasible, measurable, and sustainable.

Throughout the discussion, stakeholders covered essential topics for market entry. For instance, they discussed technology readiness, market segmentation, branding, and potential industry partnerships. Additionally, participants reviewed crucial legal and regulatory requirements. These rules are strictly necessary for BioLowTens to progress toward production safely. By utilizing this collaborative platform, the team expects to strengthen each analytical component. Consequently, this effort will result in a comprehensive and strategic downstreaming roadmap.

Ultimately, the outcomes from this second FGD will shape the final recommendations. Furthermore, they will help complete the comprehensive study report. This document will directly guide IPB University, UNPAD, and industry partners. Specifically, it directs the production, regulatory approval, and commercialization of BioLowTens. Clearly, this collaboration reflects a strong shared commitment to advancing Indonesian herbal innovations.

In conclusion, this FGD highlights the true value of collaborative research. It successfully delivers tangible health benefits to society. Hopefully, the downstreaming process of BioLowTens will proceed smoothly. Thus, it can serve as a successful model for translating academic research into impactful national products.
