The Tropical Biopharmaca Studies (TropBRC), LRI-PGK IPB University, once again organized the Network Pharmacology Workshop 2025 Batch #2 on Tuesday–Wednesday, December 16–17, 2025, conducted online via Zoom Meeting. The workshop was officially opened by the Secretary of TropBRC, Dr. apt. Siti Sa’diah, M.Si., and was attended by 31 participants from various universities, research institutions, and health-related organizations across Indonesia, including the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Brawijaya, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, Universitas Lambung Mangkurat, and TropBRC IPB University.
The workshop featured competent speakers from IPB University, UPN Veteran Yogyakarta, the Institut Teknologi Sumatera, as well as researchers from TropBRC. The materials covered key topics such as multi-component and multi-target concepts in traditional herbal medicine, graph mining, screening of potential bioactive compounds, protein target prediction, protein–protein interaction network analysis using Swiss Target Prediction, STRING, and Cytoscape, as well as enrichment analysis including Gene Ontology and KEGG pathway analysis. Participants also engaged in hands-on sessions on network visualization, molecular docking, and were introduced to the I-PrimeTarget platform along with examples of network pharmacology-based publications. The integrated theoretical and practical approach enabled participants to comprehensively and practically understand the entire analysis workflow.
Participants showed high enthusiasm throughout the workshop, reflected in active discussions during each session. Numerous positive feedback comments were received, highlighting the instructors’ patience in providing step-by-step guidance, well-structured and up-to-date materials, and the responsiveness and communicative support from the organizing team. Participants also appreciated the hands-on practice sessions, real research and publication examples, and the ease of communication facilitated through the WhatsApp group. Through this workshop, TropBRC reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening national research capacity and fostering innovative research based on network pharmacology to support the development of Indonesian phytopharmaceuticals. Let us continue learning, collaborating, and innovating for the advancement of science and public health.
