TropBRC LRI-PGKH IPB University extends its warmest congratulations to Prof. Dr. Irmanida Batubara, S.Si., M.Si. She has earned a distinguished spot on the Top 2% Scientists 2026 list. This annual global ranking celebrates the top 2% most influential scientists across the globe. Consequently, her inclusion reflects her extraordinary dedication to high-impact scientific research. Furthermore, this achievement brings immense honor to the entire TropBRC and IPB University family.
The Top 2% Scientists 2026 list is compiled by Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier. Specifically, Prof. John P. A. Ioannidis and his research team lead this evaluation. They analyze citation data from the global Scopus database to determine the rankings. Therefore, the primary objective is to identify scientists whose publications drive significant global impact. As a result, the methodology focuses on meaningful scientific influence rather than publication volume alone.
Top 2% Scientists 2026 Selection Criteria
The assessment uses standardized bibliometric indicators to measure academic performance accurately. These metrics include total citation counts, h-index, hm-index, and author order placement. For example, the system carefully evaluates first, last, and corresponding author positions. In addition, the calculation adjusts for co-authorship contributions to ensure fair evaluation. Furthermore, the ranking divides candidate achievements into two distinct time categories. The first category measures career-long citation impact across an entire academic lifespan. Meanwhile, the second category evaluates single-year citation impact specifically for the previous year.
The study encompasses 22 major scientific fields and hundreds of specialized sub-fields. Consequently, fields such as medicine, engineering, social sciences, and humanities are fairly represented. Moreover, the full dataset is published openly in the Elsevier Data Repository for public review. Because of this transparency, institutions worldwide use the dataset as a research quality benchmark. For instance, universities in Indonesia like IPB, UGM, and UIN utilize these metrics to measure faculty prestige.
TropBRC takes immense pride in her inclusion among the Top 2% Scientists 2026. Indeed, her work serves as an inspiring example for researchers and students across the country. Ultimately, we pray this success brings ongoing blessings and fosters continuous scientific discovery. In addition, TropBRC remains dedicated to advancing research for Indonesia and the international community.
Best Regards,
TropBRC
