On Thursday, October 16, 2025, the Tropical Biopharmaca Research Center (TropBRC) of IPB University welcomed a visit from 61st cohort students of the Faculty of Medicine, IPB University. The visit, held at the TropBRC Laboratory from 1:00 to 5:00 PM (WIB), was attended by 20 students accompanied by three supervising lecturers.
The main agenda of this visit was a hands-on session on preparing jamu (Indonesian traditional herbal drink), as part of the “Principles of Herbal Medicine” course block. The session was guided by TropBRC laboratory staff, Laela Wulansari, S.Si., M.Si., and apt. Nunuk Kurniati Nengsih, S.Farm.
Through this activity, students gained direct experience and deeper understanding of herbal formulation principles and the potential development of Indonesia’s natural resources in the health sector. TropBRC highly appreciates this initiative as part of its commitment to supporting practice-based learning and strengthening medical students’ understanding of holistic health concepts rooted in tropical biopharmaca. The collaboration between academia and research centers is expected to enrich students’ perspectives on utilizing medicinal plants for promotive and preventive healthcare efforts.
