Six internship students visited The Biopharmaca Conservation and Cultivation Unit (UKBB) of TropBRC on Tuesday, 5 May 2026. The visit was welcomed by the Manager of UKBB, Taopik Ridwan, M.Si., who introduced the students to various activities and facilities supporting research and development of medicinal plants.
During the visit, the students gained direct exposure to medicinal plant identification, research activities related to medicinal plants, distillation processes, and the preparation of simplisia as raw materials for herbal products. The participants were also introduced to the importance of proper handling and processing techniques to maintain the quality and potential bioactive compounds of medicinal plants.
Through this educational visit, the internship students were expected to broaden their understanding of medicinal plant research and strengthen their practical knowledge regarding biofarmaka processing and utilization. The activity also reflected TropBRC’s commitment to supporting integrated learning experiences that connect scientific theory with hands-on research practice.
