Two staff members from the Tropical Biopharmaca Research Center (TropBRC) achieved remarkable success. Ahmad Yani and Ninik Lestari Ningsih competed at the 63rd IPB Anniversary Sports Tournament in Bogor. They represented the International Research Institution (LRI) of IPB University and showed outstanding athletic performance. This month-long event ran from August 2 to September 2, 2026. The annual competition carried the theme “Meneguhkan Kemandirian, Menginspirasi Masa Depan” (Strengthening Independence, Inspiring the Future).
Athletic Achievements Across Football, Badminton, and Volleyball
Throughout the tournament, the TropBRC representatives delivered impressive results in multiple sports. Ahmad Yani played a key role in both men’s football and badminton. His football team successfully secured first place after defeating the Faculty of Agriculture (Faperta) of IPB University. Additionally, Yani led the LRI contingent to first place in mixed badminton following a tough match against the IPB Vocational School.
Meanwhile, Ninik Lestari Ningsih showed equal dedication on the court in women’s volleyball. She and her teammates earned a well-deserved second place after reaching the finals. They achieved this runner-up spot after a closely contested match, also against the IPB Vocational School. Together, these athletic achievements highlight strong sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork across the university community.
As an active research unit, TropBRC proudly operates under the LRI Food, Nutrition, Health and Halal (PGKH). LRI IPB University was established in 2023 as an umbrella institution managing five specialized research entities. Alongside LRI-PGKH, it covers LRI Maritime, Marine and Fisheries (i-MAR), LRI Advanced Technology (LRI-TM), LRI Environment and Climate Change (LPI), and LRI Social, Economic and Regional Development (PSEK).
